Writing and Performance has been apart of my practice since I was a teen.

Writing and teaching has carried me throughout my life and has been a tool to ignite discussion, and social change. Give me a theme, issue, or topic and I can curate a piece that fits your event or experience. I am also a dynamic and fun host of all sorts of events and shows. I have led writing workshops, taught in the classroom, held residencies, done keynotes, speaking engagements, and panels. Enjoy some past performances and get to know my work.

  • Fly Honey Finale

    Poem for the final Fly Honey Show, founded in Chicago in 2010. The Fly Honeys are a femme-led, party-starting, ass-shaking, glitter-bombing, sex-positive group of performers born who created a legendary annual event for 15 years.

  • Raise Up for Education at the Kennedy Center

    Raise Up was an event at the Kennedy Center to advocate for education reform to divert from the increasing drop out rate. Poets, Musicians and other artists were gathered to rally for education.

    Bodies for The Center For Cultural Power

    “Bodies” for The Center for Cultural Power. A handful of artists were asked to respond to cultural events or topics. Here I speak of misinformation given by our government and our harrowing way of dealing with immigration.

  • Queer Abstract Hosting and Poem

    Queer Abstract was a monthly variety show I created and hosted that featured over 300 Queer, Trans, POC artists over the course of three years. To begin the show I always welcomed our audience and shared a poem of my own in alignment with our theme. Enjoy this poem inspired by Zoe Leonard’s “I Want a President.”
