Queer Abstract
Queer Abstract was a monthly free QTPOC Performance Art Night held in Brooklyn NY from 2017- 2020. Birthed on the night of 45’s first inauguration it was essential to create a gathering space of organizing, joy, and celebration that held some of the regimes most attacked constituents. We featured poets, comedians, dancers, musicians and many multifaceted artists every month and ended with a party and fellowship.
Over the course of 3 years Queer Abstract featured over 300 artists and was written up in the AM New York, New York Times and Europe’s L’ Express.
Our Final Show
Queer Abstract ended in 2020 just shy of a few months before the world shut down. We left with 3 years of legacy behind us. Queer Black and Brown artists of color were about to be showcased and celebrated in our tenure. You can find an archive of our show on Youtube.
