Brave New Voices International Teen Poetry Slam
BNV is a youth poetry festival featuring artists from across the globe. The festival moves cities every year and has been anywhere from 3-5 days and 40-75 events throughout the festival! My work with this project has spanned over two decades! I started as a participant, moved into leadership, mentorship, and now I am considered an OG. This model is meant to pass down and keep in the hands of young people. I have aged out but have acted as Director, Host, Guest artist and always there to lead the youth with wisdom.
BNV not only a festival but a movement, creating some of our strongest poets, writers and thought leaders this country has ever seen.
Brave New Voices was a vehicle that changed the course of my life and so I have committed myself to giving back to the movement. Here you not only meet the best writers but forever friends and colleagues that are hellbent on protecting a creative freedom and the integrity of the written and spoken word.
